Human Genetics Commission (HGC) Seminar Report on Intellectual Property and DNA Diagnostics

On 5 August 2011, the Human Genetics Commission (HGC), the UK Government’s advisory body on human genetics, published its report which considers the impact of DNA patents on diagnostic innovation.  The report presents an overview of recent empirical research on the impact of DNA patenting in relation to diagnostics and focus on reviewing published academic research.
