D Young & Co’s patent group welcomes new partner hire James Cornford

D Young & Co LLP is pleased to announce the recruitment of Partner James Cornford to the firm’s electronics, engineering & IT patent group.

Based at the D Young & Co’s thriving Southampton office, James joins the firm during a sustained period of growth in response to the needs of our clients. James brings an exceptional background and experience in the electronics and mechanical engineering sectors, specializing in 3D printing, agricultural systems, digital watermarking, medical devices, VR systems and wearables. He also has a particular interest in supporting sustainable technologies such as recyclable packaging and renewables – including heat pumps and solar-powered steam generators.

James represents clients before the European Patent Office (EPO) and the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) in prosecution, opposition and appeal proceedings.
