Associate, Rechtsanwältin Munich
Profile of Sophia Hassfeld

The field of intellectual property caught my attention during my legal studies, and I particularly enjoyed integrating creative thinking with legal reasoning. Working in IP, I learned to appreciate the subject variety, the daily insights into latest trends, and the opportunity to operate in an international environment.

I advise national and international clients on all aspects of trade mark, design and unfair competition law. A key focus of my practice lies in contentious matters, in particular the enforcement of intellectual property rights before the German courts and the representation of clients in proceedings before the IP offices.

Before joining D Young & Co in 2025, I worked at a renowned German IP boutique in Munich. My practice involved advising and representing clients in all areas of soft IP, including the enforcement of intellectual property rights and action against product imitations.

With a Bachelor of Laws, I bring both legal expertise and commercial insight to the practical, business-oriented advice I provide to clients.

I represent clients before the German civil courts, the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA), the Federal Patent Court, and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

I am a native German speaker and I am fluent in English.
