Chris Sharrock

I joined D Young & Co in 2024, and have enjoyed gaining experience in the prosecution and opposition of European patents in the biotechnology sector, utilising my extensive knowledge of cell and molecular biology.
I obtained first class honours from the University of York in my Master in Biology degree, selecting modules that predominantly focused on cellular and molecular biology. This degree also involved a year in industry at Allergan Biologics, working on optimising the purification of a viral therapeutic via column chromatography. Following this, I undertook a PhD at the University of Bristol, where I investigated the role of the protein BCL-3 in promoting resistance to radiotherapy in colorectal cancer cells.
Since joining D Young & Co, I have worked for clients in the pharmaceutical and food technology sectors.
