D Young & Co partners Catherine Keetch, Tamara Milton and Jennifer O'Farrell are IP attorney mentors in the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) pilot mentorship project for female inventors.

The goal of the initiative has been to support a group of female inventors from Pakistan, Mexico, Oman and Uganda to support their efforts to bring their inventions to society, though direct interaction with IP expert mentors. The project is supported by the “Committee on Development and IP gender and IP work program”. The scheme has fostered engagement among participating women inventors, based on their sector of activity and also their geographic location, so that they can exchange experiences and network.

Participating mentors are women and men with significant experience bringing inventions to society in the health, IT, green technology, and agriculture sectors – or advising others in relation to the IP elements of such activities.
