I joined the D Young & Co patent team as a technical assistant in 2017, having previously worked in the IP and standards team of a major mobile communications company.
My role at this global organisation involved managing the development of its standards essential patent (SEP) portfolio, from invention disclosure review and patent filing approval to claim chart drafting and support to the licensing team on contentious issues. I worked closely with both in-house counsel and external US and EP attorneys on patent prosecution, ETSI FRAND declarations, and participated in opposition proceedings at the EPO.
I led a team that participated in a number of ETSI, 3GPP and GSMA standard groups, and I am an inventor of over 50 granted US and European patents in the field of mobile communications.
Prior to this I was a research and teaching assistant at Stanford University, working in the fields of computer networking and wireless communication.
