Purpose

This policy sets out the basis on which D Young & Co LLP (“we”, “our” or “us”) use cookies and web beacons on our website www.dyoung.com and in our email marketing communications respectively.

Cookies & web beacons

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is stored on the hard drive of your device. A web beacon is a tiny graphic file that contain unique identifiers that enable us to recognize when an email has been opened or a link clicked.

Cookies and web beacons are used to distinguish you from other users of our website and other recipients of our email marketing communications. This helps us to understand how you are using our website and whether you are reading our email marketing communications so that we can improve both.

By continuing to browse our website or opting-in to our email marketing communications, you are agreeing to the use of cookies and web beacons respectively.

Use of cookies & web beacons

For our website, we only use "analytical" cookies. These allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that the users are finding what they are looking for easily.

For our email marketing communications, we use “single pixel gifs”. This technology records each subscribers email address, IP address, date, and time associated with each open and click for a campaign. We use this data to create reports about how an email campaign performed and what actions subscribers took.
