Susan Keston

Practice & Professional Experience 

Susan’s areas of expertise are processor hardware, computer software, telecoms and imaging/broadcasting technology. Susan works principally with multinational corporate clients in direct drafting and prosecution of patent applications. She has also had considerable success in advocacy: representing clients at hearings before the UKIPO and the EPO (in both Examining and Opposition Divisions). 

Susan’s qualifications provide an excellent basis for understanding a broad range of technology within the electronics field. Prior to joining the patents profession, Susan worked as an engineer at Roke Manor Research (Siemens) in telecoms research. Susan previously worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant where she lectured on Quantum Mechanics. 

Qualifications

BSc Combined Honours in Physics and Astronomy, University of Glasgow (final year class prize in Astronomy).
PhD Theoretical Particle Physics, University of Glasgow. (awarded Rutherford Prize for PhD research).
Certificate in Intellectual Property Law, Queen Mary College, University of London.
European Patent Attorney 2005.
Chartered Patent Attorney 2005.
