PhD in organic chemistry, Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge. Research into porphyrin-based receptors, their synthesis and intracavity chemistry.

Postdoctoral research, University of Cambridge. Investigating a combinatorial approach to synthesising macrocyclic receptors in the presence of transition state analogues.

Professional Experience

Experience in private practice at D Young & Co since 1998. Became Partner 2004.

Clients include small biotech/pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, start-up and spin-out companies, large industrial firms, and overseas attorneys.

Experience in drafting specifications, prosecution, opposition and providing freedom to practice and infringement opinions.
