2012 IET Emerging Technology Winner Announced
Congratulations to all the winners of the 2012 Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Innovation Awards.
Anthony Carlick (pictured, left) of D Young & Co was delighted to present Paul Egan of Neul (www.neul.com) with the Emerging Technology Award at a glittering black-tie ceremony on 22 November. D Young & Co has a proud history of supporting pioneering companies in emerging technologies, and we were particularly pleased to sponsor this prestigious award for a second year.
Neul was selected for its innovative work re-defining wireless data communications with the launch of NeuINET, the world's first dedicated TV white space 'network in a box'. NeuINET allows operation of a white space network that delivers up to 16Mb/s over 10km range without interfering with digital TVs, PVRs and wireless microphones. The judging panel commented that "White space networks undoubtedly represent the next global growth area for wireless. Targeting the area of Machine to Machine (M2M) communications for example, is an exciting and challenging opportunity because machines do not communicate like humans and a new paradigm is required for dedicated M2M networks."
Also shortlisted for the Emerging Technology Award were Arago Technology Limited, Bar-Ilan University, Sensor Electronic Technology Inc and the University of Sheffield.
