Ian specialises in the protection, enforcement and licensing of IP and related technology rights. He has particular expertise in the pharmaceutical, FMCG and broadcasting markets, as well as extensive experience of advising clients on strategy and dispute resolution on a worldwide basis. He has represented (and continues to represent) a number of household names in High Court litigation in the UK in trade mark, design right, copyright and patent cases. He has also acted in several ICC and LCIA arbitrations involving complex legal and technical issues. Ian is an accredited mediator and has been involved in many mediations, both as a mediator and as a client’s solicitor.

Ian worked in Hong Kong for two years and was a partner in two leading firms (1984-93 and 1993-2010). Ian joined D Young & Co in 2011 to establish the D Young & Co Dispute Resolution & Legal Group.
