Practice & Professional Experience
Aylsa’s portfolio covers the technical areas of biotechnology and biochemistry, including molecular biology, food technology, enzymology, plant biotechnology, antibody technology, diagnostics and therapeutics, stem cell technology and pharmaceuticals.
Aylsa joined D Young & Co in 2000 after in-house experience. She became a partner at D Young & Co in 2004.
Aylsa has considerable experience before the EPO Opposition Divisions and Appeal Boards. As well as advising on validity and infringement matters she handles a worldwide prosecution portfolio providing strategic advice for a range of clients, including Danisco A/S, SemBioSys, Plant Bioscience, Plasticell, BioEos and Pfizer. Aylsa was involved in Plant Bioscience’s landmark case G2/07 before the Enlarged Board of Appeal.
Qualifications
BSc in Applied Biology, University of Leeds.
European Patent Attorney 2001.
Chartered Patent Attorney 2003.
