Practice & Professional Experience
Angela has more than 10 years experience in trade mark private practice. She joined D Young & Co in 2000 and became a partner in 2006.
Angela handles a full range of UK, CTM, Madrid Protocol and overseas trade mark filing and prosecution matters, as well as conducting opposition, revocation, invalidation and Appeal proceedings before the UK IPO and OHIM.
Angela has particular expertise in domain name dispute resolution, trade mark clearance searching and infringement advice for the commercial settings of household consumer products, pharmaceuticals, fashion and the financial service sector.
Angela has a large US and Japanese client base and travels regularly to the US and Japan.
Qualifications
LLB (Honours) (University of Edinburgh), specialising in Intellectual Property (Dissertation: “The Interaction between domain names, trade marks and passing off”).
Postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice (University of Edinburgh).
Registered Trade Mark Attorney 2001 (winner of the Payne Bennet Memorial Prize for the best performance in the qualifying examinations).
European Trade Mark Attorney 2002.
European Design Attorney 2003.
