D Young & Co Partner Gillian Deas is elected ITMA president, April 2008
We are pleased to announce that Gillian Deas has been elected ITMA President and wish her every success during her term.
Gillian was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys in 2002 and became Senior Vice President in March 2006. She is also a member of the Pharmaceutical Trade Marks and the Registry Practice Working Group - Designs.

New Associate Appointed, April 2008
We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new associate at our Southampton office.
Following his recent qualification as a Chartered Patent Attorney, Gareth Scaddan has now been apointed as an Associate. Gareth joined D Young & Co in 2001 and specialises in physics, electronics, computing, mobile communications, LCD technology, consumer electronic devices, spacecraft design and remote sensing technology. New Trade Mark Associate Joins D Young & Co, November 2007
We were pleased to welcome Mark Snowball to our London office during November 2007. Mark has a MPhil in Land Economy from Cambridge University, specialising in the law of nuisance and its impact on property rights. Mark qualified as a UK and European Trade Mark Attorney by examination in 2006 and was winner of the John Parker Memorial Prize for the best performance in UK trade mark practice. Having joined D Young & Co's Patent Life Sciences Group in 2001, Simon O'Brien has now been appointed an Associate following his recent qualification as a European Patent Attorney. Simon's specialist fields cover biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology and general chemistry subject matter, including therapeutics, diagnostics, gene sequences, pharmaceuticals and petrochemicals. New Trade Mark Attorney Joins D Young & Co, September 2005
D Young & Co have appointed Vivienne Coleman to join the firm's Trade Mark team in London, boosting the department to 9 attorneys.
With over 13 years experience, Vivienne has worked for a range of clients including individuals, SMEs and multinationals in various sectors - most recently with an emphasis on media, communications and entertainment.
Prior to joining D Young & Co, Vivienne spent four years at Olswang, solicitors, where she headed the trade mark filing and prosecution practice, and eight years at Marks & Clerk, Trade Mark Attorneys.
D Young's Trade Mark team has been consistently successful in attracting work from multi-national corporations, including Fortune 500 companies and FTSE 100 listed companies and is enjoying continued growth and recognition.
